ABOUT

Dr. Karen J. Brock, PhD
Founder, Learning-Centered Schools

Drawing on more than three decades of teaching, research, and hands-on school improvement work, Dr. Brock developed a framework designed to support meaningful, lasting change. The Learning-Centered Schools approach helps schools move toward high-impact teaching and learning in every classroom.

The six-factor framework builds on existing strengths and provides a clear focus for improvement. Dr. Brock has partnered with more than 100 schools and districts, helping leaders use Title I and state funds strategically to strengthen instruction and improve student achievement.

Her work spans all levels of K–12 education, with a consistent focus on school improvement. Through thoughtful leadership and effective professional learning, she supports schools in working toward becoming highly effective learning communities.

By organizing the six factors into a shared model for administrators, teachers, and the broader community, the framework offers a practical blueprint for implementation. Grounded in evidence and focused on results, it supports school improvement efforts that are clear, aligned, and actionable.
